Queers (2017) Eight short monologues were written for this series in response to the 50th anniversary of the passing of the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which decriminalized homosexual acts in private between two men aged 21 or over. "Queers" takes a look at the lives of gay men and women in the U.K. This new project runs eight different monologues from well known actors and in the U.K. this was part of a longer project called "Gay Britannia" on pubcaster BBC to mark the 50th anniversary of the Sexual Offenses Act which decriminalized homosexual acts in the U.K. Each monologue runs for 15 minutes and the topics cover a span of 100 years, the characters address the HIV crisis and the Sexual Offenses Act. Sarah Barnett, the president of BBC America said "Brilliantly written and performed, these monologues may be compact but they are brimful of humor, heartbreak, joy, humanity and tenderness."
